SoilMap Layer: 100 yr Floodplains
The Pennsylvania floodplains layer was originally created by digitizing Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Rate Map/Federal Hazard Boundary maps.
Click here for complete source metadata. Due to the nature of transferring the floodplains from the Federal Emergency Management Agency maps to our plotted 1:24000 scale maps this coverage should be considered to be the "best representation" of the data but not as accurate as, for example, a map of Global Positioning System's floodplain coordinates. Use this data with caution. The Floodplains layer is only visible at map scales smaller than 1:80,000. Note: All SoilMap source data has been projected to an Albers Conical Equal Area projection with the following parameters. |
