SoilMap Layer: Landmarks
The Landmarks layer is derived from GNIS data for Pennsylvania. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS), developed by the U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, contains information about physical and cultural geographic features in the United States and associated areas, both current and historical (not including roads and highways). The database holds the Federally recognized name of each feature and defines the location of the feature by state, county, USGS topographic map, and geographic coordinates. The Landmarks display as points with a label automatically generated for each landmark. For More Information - Visit the GNIS page. The Landmarks layer is visible at scales larger than 1:50,000. Note: All SoilMap source data has been projected to an Albers Conical Equal Area projection with the following parameters. The data and documentation on SoilMap are provided 'as is' and the User assumes the entire risk as to their quality and performance. SoilMap source data was produced at a variety of scales and may not be suitable for use at larger scales. |
